On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Israel’s Interior Ministry released its annual list of the country’s most popular baby names.
And for the first time in five years, Tamar did not top the list for girls.
Instead, Miriam came out on top, with Tamar dropping to second place.
The list continued: Avigail, Adele, Yael, Sarah, Noa, Shira, and new entries Lia and Ella.
On the boy’s side of the population registry, Mohammed again topped the list. Adam, Yosef, Omer, Ariel, David, Lavi, Daniel, Ahmad, and Eitan were the runners up.
