Middle schoolers from Valley Chabad’s Linking Hearts gathered at the Jewish Home Assisted Living in River Vale for an afternoon of crafts and fun. They helped residents make Rosh Hashanah honey dishes and New Year cards. The program concluded with Jewish bingo and an interactive game.

The afternoon kicked off the season of monthly events at JHAL. Linking Hearts is one of five programs offered by Valley Chabad’s Teen Leadership Initiative, led by Rabbi Yosef and Estie Orenstein.

At the next meeting, set for October 13 at JHAL, teens will help residents bake challah. The program is open to all Jewish middle schoolers regardless of affiliation. For information, email rabbiyosef@valleychabad.org, go to valleychabad.org/teens, or call (201) 476-0157.
