Meditation retreat in Tenafly

Mark Van Buren, a yoga, meditation and mindful living trainer, leads a “Meditation Retreat” on Sunday, July 15, at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The guided, half-day silent retreat will teach participants how to incorporate meditation into their daily routines. Van Buren will explore meditation in all forms, including sitting, walking, journaling, meditative dance, and quietly lying on the floor. He also will share core teachings and how to attain restorative results.

“Meditation provides a way to find deep inner peace, mindfulness and calm,” he said. “It also helps people develop concentration, clarity and a sense of emotional positivity — something we can all benefit from.”
