Maywood says thanks
The congregation of Reconstructionist Temple Beth Israel in Maywood (RTBI) extends our sincere thanks and appreciation for the huge outpouring of support we received in the days immediately following the anti-Semitic vandalism we discovered on our property on Dec. 11. In addition to our colleagues within the Jewish community, we must commend Maywood’s borough officials, DPW employees, and members of the Maywood Rotary and the American Legion, who came together promptly to remove all traces of the defacement – without being asked.
Our wheelchair ramp has received a fresh coat of paint, the sidewalk and the building are clean once again, and we are bolstered by the Maywood community’s kind response on our behalf.
We have received encouraging and kind words from Maywood’s interfaith community, which has helped us to strengthen our connections to this wonderful town that our congregation has called home since the late 1920s. We are so very grateful to you all.
