Marking Ramadan at Emerson shul

Recently, more than 80 people from several local faith groups gathered at Congregation B’nai Israel in Emerson for a Ramadan Iftar dinner. Participants shared in the experience of breaking the fast for the evening meal during the Muslim holy month.

Speakers talked about the meaning of Ramadan and the meaning of fasting in various faith traditions, as well as ways to respond to challenges Jews and Muslims face in today’s environment.
