Making a Jewish family
The author of “A Jewish Girl & a Not-So-Jewish Boy: A Journey From New Jersey to Hawaii — A Memoir by Sandra M. Z. Armstrong” and her husband, Donald Armstrong, will talk about Sandy’s memoir on Wednesday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m., at Temple Israel & JCC in Ridgewood.
The Armstrongs, whose Jewish journey began at Temple Israel, now live in Oahu, Hawaii. The couple began as interfaith but chose Judaism. The book is about their evolution as a committed Jewish family. The talk is co-sponsored by the synagogue’s sisterhood and its men’s club; the Armstrongs were active in both organizations.
Copies of the book will be for sale with an author inscription; profits will be donated to TI-JCC. For information, call (201) 444-9320 or go to www.synagogue.org.
