Local funeral homes offer phone line support

Both Gutterman Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors and Wien and Wien Inc. Memorial Chapels, both Dignity Memorial providers, have been supporting grieving families and loved ones with a 24-hour compassion helpline for many years. The helpline is dedicated to providing free and confidential support from professionally trained bereavement counselors.

While these funeral homes have not previously had a helpline available to other groups, they felt a strong need to offer it to the Jewish community and its allies after the horrific events in Israel on October 7. They hope that will be a resource for people who are feeling isolated, have faced antisemitism, or may just need to talk to someone who offers comfort and compassion.

Beginning on December 1 and for the next six months, the Compassion Helpline, (866) 649-9644, is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The funeral homes ask that you share this information in your community and with anyone who is looking for additional support.
