Local educator among JEA awardees
Marcia Kagedan of Teaneck, the director of congregational learning at the JCC of Paramus/Congregation Beth Tikvah, is one of 14 educators to receive an honorary doctorate from the Jewish Educators Assembly. The Jewish Theological Seminary will host the festive academic convocation on November 12, when the seminary’s chancellor confers the degree of doctor of pedagogy, honoris causa.
The academic convocation at JTS is a tradition of partnership between the Jewish Theological Seminary and the Jewish Educators Assembly. Every few years, the country’s oldest Conservative institution of higher learning recognizes educators who have distinguished themselves with illustrious careers through the awarding of honorary doctorates.
