Local Boys, One Israeli, Compete in TV Sports Awards
Two young NJ Athletes will compete live on Nickelodeon for the chance of winning $50,000. One happens to be Israeli.
Roee Maor from Demarest, NJ whose family is Israeli, will try to hit a soccer goal’s crossbar with a shot from quite a number of yards away. The other athlete has to locate the center of a target by throwing a football from the exact same distance.
Both boys will compete at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports Awards.
Each won local championships to qualify for the competition. For Roee, it was really a stroke of good luck. His parents saw an internet ad for the tryouts. However, at the same time, he was supposed to play in a soccer game. Miraculously, his game was rescheduled and Roee and his family were on their way to the tryouts. The rest is history.
We are proud of our NJ athletes and wish them good luck!
