Josh Teplow of Teaneck is displaying his paintings at the “Living Beyond the Fire” exhibit at the Passaic County Arts Center in Hawthorne, through March 16. His pieces were completed in response to October 7, 2023, acknowledging the pain the Jewish community felt after that day. The paintings use plant forms as a metaphor and make reference to Jewish symbolism, the despair that people felt after the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, and the hope that eventually there will be healing and life. His paintings can be seen at www.joshteplowart.com. The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
