Livingston shul offers talk about Pope Pius XII and the Jews
Livingston’s Temple B’nai Abraham welcomed Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Kertzer and Abraham Foxman of Bergen County, the Anti-Defamation League’s national director emeritus, who discussed information Dr. Kertzer found in the Vatican archives. The synagogue’s rabbi, David Vaisberg, moderated the discussion.
Dr. Kertzer’s most recent book, “The Pope at War,” is about Pius XII and his relationship with Hitler and other Axis leaders; it’s based on the information he unearthed in archives across Europe.
The program was part of the synagogue’s Bloom Family Lecture series.
