I just finished reading and enjoying the “Passover Feature: A Couple of Last Minute Recipes” in The Jewish Standard. Kugels and mandel broit are everyone’s year-round favorites and to have a recipe kosher for Passover is a special treat.
I also checked the Cooking With Beth online blog at www.jstandard.com and was delighted to discover the recipe for “Chocolate Coconut Cake with Chocolate Icing” made with beets. The beets are an unusual ingredient for a cake. I plan to make it to satisfy all of the chocoholics at our seder table and ask the dessert eaters “Who can guess the mystery ingredient?”
