The Garden State, indeed. New Jersey is filled with green places and spaces and aptly earned her moniker. But she’s also especially this time of year, a magnificent play of pristine coastlines that make for summer fun at the beach not only so anticipated but famous, think the series “Jersey Shore.”
New Jersey beaches are well-loved by beachgoers because they are family-friendly, spacious, and have plenty of amenities for the kids.
We discovered the Jersey Shore through our friends, who have a house just steps away from the sun and surf in Bradley Beach. Each summer, we would bring our young kids there and not only enjoy the company of our friends, but have a great weekend family-friendly time, including Shabbat.
Because of my familiarity, this low-key town tops my list. Bradley Beach is the perfect combo of simple town life and quiet isolation of the beach. Bradley Beach has a small, old-fashioned boardwalk with a spacious area to walk, bike, or jog, even play mini golf. For Shabbat, there are a few synagogues in town, and Deal, a hub of Syrian Jewish residents, is a short car ride away for lots of dining options for the kosher diner.

This beach has amenities that include beach umbrellas and beach loungers, perfect for a relaxing day, clean restrooms and showers, spacious parking, free Wi-Fi for all beachgoers, numerous water fountains, and an oceanfront boardwalk filled with shops and eateries.
