Lamdeinu to honor Judy Schiff as it celebrates its first decade
Lamdeinu will honor Judy Schiff at its tenth anniversary Chanukah breakfast on Sunday, December 8, at 9:15 a.m. at Congregation Beth Aaron in Teaneck.
Ms. Schiff, who has lived in Fort Lee for the past 13 years, holds degrees from Brandeis University, Hebrew Teachers College, and Simmons College. She spent much of her career as a librarian at Hebrew College, where she shared her passion for Jewish learning with others. She was married to Seymour “Shalom” Schiff, z’l, for 62 years; the couple shared a love for Torah, Israel, and the Hebrew language. Ms. Schiff is the mother of four children, grandmother of 15, and great-grandmother of 28, in America and in Israel.
Ms. Schiff’s inspiring dedication to Lamdeinu includes her enthusiastic participation in Torah study, especially in the Parshanut HaMikrah class with Dean Rachel Friedman, where she contributes to Lamdeinu’s learning environment with warmth, curiosity, and commitment.
The Lamdeinu breakfast program will include a d’var Torah by Dean Friedman, recitation of Tehillim, and words of Torah and inspiration from Ms. Schiff.
