L.A. story
I loved the reference in “Lighting up the tzedakah stairway” (Dec. 4) to “Canter’s, a famous Los Angeles delicatessen.” In 1966 my family was on a cross-country trip. One of our stops was Los Angeles. A special part of our itinerary was stopping for lunch at Canter’s. As Jersey City natives, my parents wanted to see why the famous Canter’s of Jersey City would transplant itself to Los Angeles. They never understood the attraction.
