Michael Kurtz of Livingston, a prominent New Jersey businessman and philanthropist, will receive an honorary doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in June during the convocation of the school’s international board of governors in Israel.

Mr. Kurtz has maintained a longstanding commitment to the Lautenberg Center for Cancer and Immunology Research at the Hebrew University. The Lautenberg Center, named in honor of Senator Frank Lautenberg, z”l, conducts internationally renowned basic cancer research in Israel.

He chairs the Endowment for the Lautenberg Center and has been actively involved with the Lautenberg family and other philanthropic leaders committed to Israeli-led research and the battle against cancer. Many Hebrew University supporters of the Lautenberg Center for Cancer and Immunology Research live in New Jersey and New York, where he spearheads fundraising. For information, go to www.afhu.org.
