Kristallnacht marked in New City

The Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education offers a community-wide Kristallnacht commemoration on November 8, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Nanuet Hebrew Center in New City. It will include an illumination ceremony. A student will be the keynote speaker.

Kristallnacht was the night of November 8, 1938, when the German Nazi government destroyed Jewish homes, businesses, synagogues, and families. More than 30,000 Jews were arrested, 91 Jews brutally murdered, and hundreds more injured. Kristallnacht foreshadowed the terror and destruction of the Holocaust.
