Kid vaccination days at Valley Health
Valley Health System recently held special Kid Vaccination Days at Valley’s Vaccination Center to administer the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine to children ages 5 to 11. Upon entering the Vaccination Center, Valley’s pediatric team provided each patient with a “Get to Know Me” sheet and pack of crayons. The patients were asked to fill in this information or draw a picture to show their vaccinator. This allowed our vaccinators to have a topic of conversation with the patient.
Prior to receiving their vaccine, each patient picked out a special band aid. After their vaccination, each patient was allowed to select a prize from the prize box and received a sticker. To provide entertainment during the 15-minute waiting period after the vaccine is administered, coloring books and snacks were provided, therapy dogs greeted patients, a juggler performed, and Valley pediatricians spoke with patients and their guardians.
In total, as of November approximately 1,400 pediatric patients have received their first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine through Valley’s Vaccination Center.
Valley will be hosting an additional Kids Vaccination Days Saturday on January 8, inviting kids to receive the first dose of their two-dose Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine at Valley’s Vaccination Center, located at 599 Valley Health Plaza in Paramus. Pediatricians will be on-site to assist and answer any questions. To make an appointment for one of the Kids Vaccination Days, please visit www.ValleyHealth.com/Vaccine.
Some area pediatricians may be offering the vaccine. While Valley welcomes every child age 5 to 11, parents or guardians may want to check with their pediatrician to see if their child can receive the vaccine at their pediatrician’s office.
