Judea and Samaria
In “A Very Jewish, Deeply American Life” (February 6), Zionist Organization of America president Mort Klein is quoted as stating that ZOA provides an Israeli trip which “goes to Judea and Samaria – no other trip goes there.” If Mr. Klein is referring to a college campus program, he might be correct. But if he means American Jewish organizational trips in general, he’s not.
I’ve been on numerous semi-annual missions sponsored by Americans for a Safe Israel, which spends days in Judea and Samaria, and in fact some nights in the Eshel Hashomron Hotel in Ariel, Samaria’s capital. In the U.S., I’ve been privileged to attend a couple of ZOA lobbying trips to Washington, where we speak about the importance of Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria.
