Join the Alzheimer’s Walk
Alzheimer’s New Jersey, a nonprofit that assists the 600,000 NJ families battling Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, will host a Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s at Bergen Community College in Paramus, on Sunday, October 22.
The community is invited to participate in the event, which will feature music, entertainment, refreshments, and door prizes. Special guest NFL veteran Jason Alford, a member of the Giants’ Super Bowl XLII team that beat the New England Patriots, will be signing autographs and warming up the crowd.
The walk raises much-needed funds for the organization’s activities, including community education programs, support groups, a toll-free telephone helpline, and the Respite Care and Wellness Program.
People can register by going to alznj.org/walk or on the day of the event, starting at 8:30 a.m. There is no registration fee; fund-raising, however, is encouraged. Walkers will receive a promotional item the day of the walk; those who raise $50 or more will receive a complimentary T-shirt.
The Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s is supported by The Jewish Standard and other generous sponsors. For information, call (888) 280-6055 or go to alznj.org.
