JFNNJ is ready for mitzvahs
Join many volunteers across northern New Jersey and participate in the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey’s annual Mitzvah Day on Sunday, November 18. JFNNJ’s Mitzvah Day offers volunteer projects that will improve the lives of others in the community and in Israel. There are morning and afternoon sessions — 10 to 11:30 a.m. and again from 12:30 to 2 p.m. — at JFNNJ headquarters in Paramus.
Volunteers, young and old, will perform acts of kindness, charity, and thoughtfulness. Activities include making memory books for Alzheimer’s patients; sorting and packing baby clothing to go to Israel; wrapping gloves, hats, and scarves for seniors and children; wrapping puzzles for hospitalized patients; assembling smile kits for neighbors in need; making holiday cards to go with gifts; and making dog toys for shelters.
Collection drives are underway for baby clothing, winter items, new unopened toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, and toothbrushes, magazines, binders, pet food and treats, and new unopened puzzles. Items can be dropped at JFNNJ, 50 Eisenhower Drive in Paramus.
