On December 5, Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey volunteers Dani Volerich and Gloria Schackner delivered the 42,000th and 42,001th Kosher Meals-on-Wheels of 2018. Ms. Volerich has been a JFCS volunteer for more than six years; her client, Joy, who no longer can cook, relies on the meals. Ms. Schackner has been a JFCS volunteer for more than 10 years/ her client, Arline, 91, looks forward to her meal deliveries for both physical and spiritual sustenance. JFCS always looks for both new clients and new volunteers for its Kosher Meals-on-Wheels program, which delivers kosher meals in Bergen, Passaic, and Hudson counties. If you know someone who needs a food delivery, or if you or a friend want to volunteer, call Fran Cuff at (201) 837-9090. Volunteers typically devote 1-2 hours per week to deliver meals to seniors during the day.
