Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey will host its inaugural gala on Sunday, December 3, at Edgewood Country Club in River Vale as it pays tribute to several outstanding honorees.
Elaine Adler is a longtime supporter of Jewish Family Service and many other community organizations, as was her late husband, Michael. The Adlers’ work in creating the Adler Aphasia Center has changed the lives of many people who lost their ability to speak after a stroke or other brain injury. The Adlers’ son, Jim Adler, and his wife, Dana Post-Adler, are leaders in Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey and many other local organizations.
Allyn Michaelson, past president of Jewish Family Service of North Jersey, led the agency as it and Jewish Family Service of Bergen and North Hudson combined to create Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey. She also is an active leader at JFNNJ and at Temple Beth Sholom in Fair Lawn.
Stop & Shop Corporation has become a true friend to JFCS with its commitment to giving back to the community. JFCS has received generous financial support from Stop & Shop, and the company also has donated thousands of pounds of food to the agency’s food pantry.
