Temple Israel & JCC in Ridgewood will look at “Jews by Choice: the Challenge, the Dilemmas, the Meaning” with a panel discussion on Sunday, December 12, at 10:30 a.m. The panel includes three congregants who chose to become Jews: Annemarie Roscello, Tom Marcyes, and Javier Delgado. The discussion will take place in person and online.
The panelists will take on such questions as what dilemmas they faced in make the decision to become Jewish, what they found to be the most frightening or intimidating thing about it, what was the most welcoming part of it, and what has made them feel really Jewish.

Tom Marcyes and his wife, Sylvia Flescher, have been Temple Israel members for almost 30 years. Tom’s father was Catholic and his mother was Lutheran.
