JCC day trip to museums will feature the Renoirs
The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly offers a day trip to the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia on Wednesday, August 29; the bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. The museum’s special Renoir exhibit, “Father and Son/Painting and Cinema,” explores the works of the acclaimed film director Jean Renoir and the influence his father, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, had on his son’s art and life.
Visitors will see one of the world’s leading collections of impressionist and post-impressionist art, including 181 Renoirs, 69 Cézannes, and 59 Matisses, along with works by Manet, Degas, Seurat, Prendergrast, Titian, and Picasso. They can also add a trip across the street to the Rodin Museum, which holds the largest collection of sculptor Auguste Rodin’s work outside of Paris.
The trip includes roundtrip luxury tour bus from the JCC and admission to the Barnes permanent collection and to the special Renoir exhibit. Lunch is not part of the trip, but the JCC will provide a list of suggestions. It does not include Rodin Museum admission. No refunds will be given. For more information, call (201) 408-1496.
