JCC cafe regains kosher supervision
We’ve reported on how the cafe at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly came to lose their kosher supervision last week. Friday afternoon we received the following press release from the JCC:
“The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with Kehillas Bais Ben Zion and Rabbi Zushe Yosef Blech of Monsey, NY, who will provide Kosher certification for the Café at the JCC effective May 3, 2016. Rabbi Blech will be familiar to many in the community as providing Kosher certification for the Doghouse restaurant in Teaneck. The standards of Kashruth will be those as generally recognized by major national organizations and consistent with hashgachos provided by Kehillas Bais Ben Zion with the exception that the Café will NOT offer Cholov Yisrael/Pas Yisroel products or T’Midid tuna fish.
“The JCC is committed to providing a welcoming environment for all and looks forward to having the Café under Rabbinic supervision in the next few weeks and to providing for the needs of the community.”
