It’s the economy, stupid

The Jewish community is pulling together to get through the financial crisis. The Big Lipowsky will have full coverage in next week’s issue on UJA-NNJ, Jewish Family Services, and other Jewish organizations and leaders dealing with the financial fallout.

As stocks continued to tumble Friday, oil continued its decline with reports of prices falling below $78 a barrel, a price not seen in more than a year. We certainly hope that the economic crunch comes to a swift end, but it would be nice if the drop in demand that led to these falling oil prices stuck around for a while.
