Israeli Air Force vet to speak on rescues and aiding teens
The Jewish Community Center of Northern New Jersey (formerly the YJCC) hosts a program with Ori Katzman, 24, who was a combat soldier in the Israeli Air Force’s Elite 669 Medivac Combat Search & Rescue Unit. The talk will be on Tuesday, July 17, at a private home in Park Ridge at 7:45 p.m.
Mr. Katzman is a counselor with Open Hearts, Open Homes, a program that provides respite and comfort to disadvantaged Israeli teens victimized by terror and war who stay with local Bergen County host families during the summer. He participated in many daring rescue missions, including the recent rescue of nine teenagers from a fatal flood in the Tzafit Wadi in Southern Israel. As head of the Air Force Evasion & Survival Division, he planned and led joint trainings in Israel with special units from the United States and other international Air Force elite units.
A dessert reception follows. For information, go to jccnnjkatzman.eventbrite.com.
