I read Dena Croog’s op ed on bipolar disorder with interest (February 14). I’d like to make your readers aware of a disorder that is often misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder. It is called Kleine-Levin syndrome, and it is a rare neurological sleep disorder. Symptoms include periodic episodes of hypersomnia, cognitive impairment, uncontrollable overeating, and sometimes hypersexuality. For more information, please go to www.klsfoundation.org
