Interfaith musical collaboration and dinner in Wayne
About 150 people attended Temple Beth Tikvah in Wayne’s Rabbi Israel S. Dresner Memorial Center for Collaborative Programs and Learning and the Jewish Historical Society of North Jersey’s June 9 community interfaith concert. Arthur Barchenko, the Dresner Center’s chair, underwrote the event, which included a free dinner by Gyro Grill.
The concert featured performances by the Acapella Group of Congregation Beth Shalom of Teaneck under the direction of its associate rabbi, Louis Polisson, and the combined choruses of the First AME Zion Church of Paterson, under the direction of Skip Van Rensalier.
The program was in partnership with the Gross Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Ramapo College, the Jewish Federation of Northern NJ, Wayne Public Library, and the Wayne YMCA. For information, go to .www.TempleBethTikvahNJ.org
