Honoring lives lost in Pittsburgh
Temple Emeth in Teaneck unrolled its Holocaust memorial Torah, which was rescued from a ravaged synagogue in Plzen, Czechoslovakia, during World War II during a Solidarity Shabbat on November 3 to honor the lives lost in the attack on the Pittsburgh synagogue. As congregants held the Torah scroll, Rabbi Steven Sirbu and Cantor Ellen Tilem recited El Malei Rachamim and the Mourner’s Kaddish.

Miriam Goldfarb and Marilyn Savron, Jewish Home Assisted Living residents in River Vale, helped raise money for families of the Pittsburgh synagogue victims.
