Holocaust museum readies a salute to veterans
The Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education offers a program for veterans on Thursday, November 16, at 12:30 p.m., and again at 7, at Rockland Community College’s Ellipse Technology Center in Suffern.
The program will include a keynote address by Alan Moskin, the museum’s vice president and a Jewish war veteran. Artist Walt Nygard will present “Combat Paper,” an art project where artists deconstruct American military uniforms, reclaim them as paper, and use them to communicate stories though art. In addition, there will be a “Traveling Wall of Hope” where veterans can write a wish, hope, or dream on a piece of colored paper and place it in the wall. Scott Fine, the artist who created the unique and colorful display of light and shadow, will be there.
Refreshments will be served. For information, call (845) 574-4099, email holocaustrcc@gmail.com, or go to holocauststudies.org.
