Help for sukkah building
Safely@Home, formerly Bonim Builders, offers help to older and physically challenged adults who would find it a challenge to build a sukkah unaided.
“Our volunteers are once again available to help assemble your sukkah in time for the holidays,” said Safely@Home’s Stacey Orden, who is putting out the call for both volunteers and people who need the help.
On September 13 and 20 — both Sundays — volunteers will help built sukkot. Assistance with disassembly is also needed on Sunday, October 11. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but a participating adult must accompany volunteers under 16.
“Building a sukkah is a fun and rewarding project for individuals and families,” Ms. Orden said. “It is also a meaningful mitzvah.”
There also are opportunities for the younger and/or more artistically inclined volunteers to help create decorations for the sukkot. Email cvannucci@jewishhomefamily.org for more information.
Ms. Orden can be reached at sorden@jewishhomefamily.org or at (201) 518-1175. People in need of assistance should talk to her by Wednesday, September 9.
