Headline hailed
I would like to commend The Jewish Standard for giving even greater sophistication and intelligent thought to the writings of the revered Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz. Whereas a major New York Jewish newspaper ran the same thoughtful piece, but chose to title it “Why Doesn’t Religion Make Us Better People?” – a headline given to divisiveness – your newspaper chose the headline “Demands of the Soul: only by internalizing its message can religion make us better people.” The two distinct headlines appearing above the same exact piece speak volumes about The Jewish Standard’s moral compass in capturing the true intent of Rabbi Steinsaltz’s message.
