Hands-on cooking in Orangeburg
Laurie Liner, left, taught a series of cooking classes at the Orangetown Jewish Center this summer. Students donated a percentage of the tuition to support Helping Hands, an interdenominational organization that feeds and houses the homeless. There is a Helping Hands center in Spring Valley, where many houses of worship in Rockland County take in the homeless during the winter months. Gavi Lewy, a class participant, said, “OJC is proud of its many volunteers who give of their time to participate in this Helping Hands program.”
