To celebrate Purim this year, the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County is sponsoring its first Hamantashen Wars. The goal is to award bragging rights to the amateur baker who makes the best hamantashen in Rockland County. The winner will be feted on the federation’s Facebook page and its website. As a bonus, he or she will get a 15-minute session with noted chef David Kolotkin, who will review all the recipes and judge which one is the best. Chef Kolotkin made the famous kosher Manhattan steak house Prime Grill the popular restaurant that it became. All recipes must be submitted to email@example.com by 3 p.m. on Friday, February 19.
