Good news for tech-talented young people who have more free time than originally planned for this summer: You can win $3,600 for programming the Torah.
To be more specific: Sefaria.org, the online site that makes the Torah, the Talmud, and many other Jewish texts freely available online, is offering $3,600 to the best creative use of its data and its programming interface by someone under 23 years old. Deadline is August 31, and full rules, including the requirement that anyone under 18 needs parental permission, are at Sefaria.org/contest.
If you’ve been yearning to translate the Torah into Pig Latin, or cross link the Talmud to Star Trek references, now is your chance. Make it so!
