Glen Rock Jewish Center honors Hebrew school principal
The Glen Rock Jewish Center will host a dinner dance in honor of Rachel Blumenstyk, celebrating her 25th anniversary as principal of its Hebrew school, on Saturday, October 24, at 8 p.m.
Ms. Blumenstyk developed unique educational programs, including the shtetl fair, mock wedding, and virtual trip to Israel, all designed to bring the Hebrew school’s curriculum to life. She conceived and initiated Kulanu, an innovative program of Hebrew classes designed for students with special needs. Several Kulanu students already have graduated and experienced bnai mitzvah events. Under her leadership and guidance, the Hebrew school has grown from 50 students to more than 125.
She and her late husband, Myron, joined the Glen Rock Jewish Center more than 47 years ago, and she continues to be an active and devoted member.
A virtual ad journal website was designed for the dinner. This site will contain pre-dinner information, advertisements, and post-celebration photos. It will be promoted via email and social media. The site also will be displayed as a slide show at the event.
For information about the evening or to advertise, call (201) 652-6624 or office@grjc.org.
