Free tickets made available for High Holy Days

Free tickets to High Holy Days services at Rockland County Board of Rabbis’ synagogues are available to qualifying households. The free ticket offer is made possible by the Rockland Jewish Initiative, a program of the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County.

To qualify for free tickets, applicants must not have been a member of a Rockland County Board of Rabbis’ synagogue for the past two years or bought High Holy Days tickets in Rockland County for the past two years. There is a list of the Rockland County Board of Rabbis’ synagogues at www.jewishrockland.org/rji.

The deadline to apply for the tickets is September 13. There is a link to the application form at jewishrockland.org/rji. Tickets are available for erev Rosh Hashanah, both days of Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre, and Yom Kippur.

Cantor Barry Kanarek, director of the Rockland Jewish Initiative, which administers the program, added, “This is the fourth year that Federation has partnered with the Rockland County Board of Rabbis to offer free High Holiday tickets. Our goal is to make it easy for families who might be new to the area — or new to Judaism — to celebrate our most important holy days as part of a congregation.”
