The community rallied to make the first annual Mark Samitt 5K Run a success, with more than 50 local volunteers gathering at Temple Beth Or in Washington Township and going out on the rainy course to ensure that the October 29 run went smoothly and safely. More than 185 runners and walkers registered to compete on the USATF-certified course, which began and ended at Beth Or. Proceeds will benefit two of Mark Samitt’s passions, Temple Beth Or and the Melanoma Research Foundation. Mr. Samitt died in May 2015 after battling Melanoma.
