Prof. Ira Spar of Ramapo College of New Jersey, a former Assyriologist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will talk about the discovery of a third-century C.E. synagogue in Syria with the earliest known paintings of biblical scenes, including of Queen Esther and King Ahasuerus.
