Film about heroic spy Eli Cohen to be shown in Rockland

Israel’s national hero Eli Cohen, whose spying mission in Syria helped save Israel during the Six-Day War, will be honored on the 50th anniversary of his mission with the showing of the true-story film “The Impossible Spy.” The screening, sponsored by Beth Am Temple in Pearl River, the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland, and the JCC Rockland, will be at the JCC Rockland on Sunday, June 4, at 7 p.m.

Harvey Chertok, the film’s producer, is a member of Beth Am Temple. He will open the screening by providing some insight into the film’s backstory and some of the challenges of its production, and he will conclude with a Q&A after the movie. For information, call (845) 362-4400 or go to JCCRockland.org or www.TheImpossibleSpy.com.
