This year, the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces will hold its 2020 national gala, “A Night of Heroes,” online only. This first online FIDF national gala, set for Sunday, September 13, at 7 p.m., will be a coast-to-coast celebration. Many distinguished guests are expected to participate, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. FIDF National Director and CEO Maj. Gen. (Res.) Meir Klifi-Amir — who will be succeeded in September by incoming FIDF national director and CEO Steven Weil — will give a farewell speech after six years of unprecedented organizational growth. Superstar Noa Kirel, an active IDF soldier, who recently signed a deal with Atlantic Records, will perform.

The gala is one of the largest and most prestigious in the American Jewish philanthropic community. This year, it will bring together thousands of FIDF supporters representing all chapters from across the United States, to express their appreciation for the brave young soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces, who risk their lives to protect the State of Israel and the Jewish people worldwide.

This FIDF initiative aims to enable the global FIDF family to unite for an unprecedented night of giving and extraordinary solidarity, saluting Israel’s IDF protectors, despite the limitations posed by covid-19. Register at fidf.org/events/2020-national-gala.
