It’s no secret that the Israel Defense Forces is one of the most powerful armies in the world. This is a look at how the IDF deals with urban combat, with a realistic mock Arab city equipped with mosques, buildings and sand.
Warfare is not what it used to be. Fighting isn’t out in the open field anymore. It has become urban – each alleyway a potential ambush.
In 2005, The Israeli Army built an urban warfare training center in the Tze’elim Army Base in the Negev Desert. The United States Military funded a technological building of a mock city for 45 million dollars. This has become one of the most technologically advanced sites in the world.
