Dr. Max Goldberg
Dr. Max Goldberg, 90, of Teaneck, died March 7.
Born in Switzerland, he was an Army World War II veteran, liberating the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp. He was a medical officer in the Israeli War of Independence in 1948. He was clinical director for psychiatry at a Rhode Island hospital, served as a psychiatrist with the American Army in Germany, and was in private practice in Englewood from 1958 until retiring in 2009.
Dr. Goldberg is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hilde; daughters, Rita (Oliver), Susie Brubaker (Edward), and Dorothy (David); seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
