Dr. Leonard Stern
Dr. Leonard Stern of Hackensack died on February 19.
Born in Paterson, he attended the University of Virginia and the Chicago Medical School. He was a staff pathologist in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in West Germany. Afterward, he worked in local hospitals including as the clinical director of pathology and clinical laboratories at the Community Hospital and Medical Center in Morristown. He was also a clinical professor at the New Jersey Medical School in Newark and chief of pathology at the Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratories, New York Infirmary Beekman Downtown Hospital, New York City.
He is survived by a brother, composer Robert Stern of Massachusetts; a nephew, Aaron Stern; two great nieces; and the family who cared for him in his final years, Ia Skhulukhia (Ilia Kamladze), and their children.
