Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern NJ plans November 5 gala

Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey has announced that it still will hold its annual Celebration at the Edgewood Country Club on Sunday, November 5.

The JFCS Celebration comes at a difficult time. The community is sad and worried, but JFCS feels that we are stronger together. As JFCS gathers to celebrate its honorees, Rachel Scheff and ShopRite of Englewood, Paramus, and Rochelle Park, it also will display and reflect the unity and resolve of the Northern New Jersey Jewish community.

The gala proceeds will go toward strengthening the new and existing social and mental health services that JFCS provides to Holocaust survivors, Israeli families, and the wider Jewish community in Northern New Jersey.

Rachel Scheff joined the JFCS board in 2012 and quickly rose through the ranks by showing herself to be a capable and dynamic leader. For three years as president, Ms. Scheff’s perseverance, intelligence, compassion, easygoing nature, and strength were guiding lights that launched JFCS to new heights of providing social and mental health services to the community.

ShopRite of Englewood, Paramus, and Rochelle Park is owned and operated by Glass Gardens Inc. Started by brothers Ben and Abe Glass, and now run by their sons Irv and Terry, along with the third generation of owners, Karen Holbrook, Dan Glass, and Andrew Kent, ShopRite is a staple in the community that can be relied upon to support the neediest in our neighborhoods.
