The Chabad centers of Rockland County will host a covid-safe Chanukah Drive-In at the Boulders Stadium on December 13 at 5 p.m. Menorahs, candles, and Chanukah-at-home kits will be distributed.
“The menorah serves as a symbol of light and hope for us today amidst the darkness of the pandemic, as it did for generations before us,” Rabbi Shmuel Gancz said. “The flames of the menorah shine out into the night, reminding us that even when confronted with much darkness, a tiny light can dispel it all. Another act of goodness and kindness, another act of light, can make all the difference.”
To ensure everyone’s safety, the drive-in will be very limited. All participants will stay in their cars; sound will be transmitted by FM radio. There will be a menorah lighting ceremony, a virtual Chanukah concert and illusionist show, and a fireworks display. It is made possible, in part, by the Inserra Shoprite Family.
