On December 26, Chabad of Englewood, led by Rabbi Shmuel Konikov, organized a Chanukah celebration at Englewood’s City Hall. Community leaders, including Mayor Michael Wildes, Rabbi Chaim Poupko of Congregation Ahavath Torah, Englewood Council members Dr. Kenneth Rosenzweig and Dan Tokayer, City Manager Robert Hoffmann, and Englewood police, fire, and DPW department members all were there. Two menorahs, one sculpted from ice, were lit.

The Englewood-Tenafly Coalition for Netiv HaAsara and the Moriah School built the second menorah from art destroyed on October 7, 2023. The ceramic pieces covering the wooden menorah were once beautiful works of art made by Bilha Yinon of Netiv HaAsara, a moshav near Gaza. Bilha and her husband, Yaakov, were murdered on October 7. Their home, including the ceramic studio, was burned, leaving the yard littered with ceramic shards. The menorah commemorated the Netiv HaAsara members murdered by Hamas.
