Buried no longer
We also wish a hearty b’hatzlachah (it means “with success”) to Rabbi Jay Kornsgold, whose nomination to the New Jersey Cemetery Board was approved by the State Senate last week (see article on page 6). Kornsgold’s name was put forward by the North Jersey Board of Rabbis several years ago as a first step in reforming how the state regulates cemeteries. The nomination was buried by staffers for then Gov. Jon Corzine. Gov. Chris Christie’s office kept it buried, until very recently. We would like to think it was the steady pressure to promote his appointment that finally got Kornsgold’s name placed before the State Senate. He has his task cut out for him. We wish him success; he has our active support.
